OMAHA, Neb. (USD) – The South Dakota volleyball team picked up its second straight road sweep with a 3-0 win over Omaha Saturday afternoon at Baxter Arena.
The Coyotes featured a balanced attack with five players putting away six or more kills, led by

The Coyotes team .282 hitting percentage was the second highest swing rate of the season, and the 43 kills were the second most in a three-set match.

Nelson got the Yotes started in set two with a kill to kick off a three-point run and the Yotes would hold the lead wire-to-wire across the second and third sets. Bode put away four kills on an errorless seven swings, while Nelson and Medeck had three kills each to pace the Yotes in set two. USD put together four separate 3-0 runs in the set, while holding Omaha to just two 3-0 runs to take set two 25-18.
The Coyotes dominated set three with a .314 hitting percentage to Omaha's .044 swing rate. Loschen put away five kills on nine swings and was followed by
and Medeck who had four each. The trio combined for 13 kills on 25 swings with just two errors.
A Zachariasen kill and ace sandwiched a Loschen kill, as USD was the first to 15 and led by seven. The Coyotes cruised in the back half of the set and won the set 25-13 to seal the 3-0 match victory.
The Coyotes move to 9-5 on the season, 2-1 in Summit League and 4-1 on the road.
South Dakota returns to the Sanford Coyote Sports Center next week for a pair of matches starting on Thursday against Oral Roberts at 7 p.m.
