Oct. 31—Assessing the Auburn Tigers for the totality of their collapse Saturday against the Ole Miss Rebels:

Offense — F: A decent first half devolved into a second-half ship wreck for the Tigers in Saturday's 45-15 loss. Auburn had 171 yards before halftime and 236 through three quarters. The fourth quarter should carry a parental advisory for the utter domination unleashed by the Rebels.

Defense — D: Trinidad Chambliss, if you haven't heard, is pretty good. By the end, Saturday was a walk in the park for the Rebels, who finished with 487 yards offense. They had 186 at halftime.

Special teams — D: Hunter Kaak averaged 43 yards on his four kicks, and Alex McPherson hit his only field-goal attempt, a 29-yarder at the end of the second quarter, but the Tigers suffered a blocked extra point. No returns recorded.

Coaching — G: Not good enough for an F. Going for two once they got within two in the third quarter, OK. Still going for two after a penalty, with over 21 minutes of game time remaining, highly questionable. That turned the momentum in a decisive manner, and the Rebels rolled off the final 28 points.

Overall — F: Again, have you heard: Auburn beat Georgia a few weeks back. That's about all the Tigers can hang their hat on ... for now. The kid shown late in the fourth quarter, an Ole Miss fan, brandishing a belt in an aggressive manner definitely symbolized what Ole Miss did at the end.
