Chelsea are 1-0 down against Brentford , and with 70 minutes on the clock, Xabi Alonso has had to make his move to try and change the game back in his team's favour.

The new manager has opted to bring off striker Danny Welbeck and move Morgan Rogers up front. Geovany Quenda has come on in Rogers' usual position on the left.

That's bad news for Estevao Willian. There was already concern that he's not starting in the league. Now he seems to have slipped further back in the pecking order.

Tactical concerns all part of Alonso's Estevao decision

Now of course there's more to it than just a hierarchy – Quenda is playing on the left, while Estevao wants to play on the right or centrally. And given we're not going to take off Cole Palmer , that would either mean Palmer or Estevao playing on the left where they aren't really at their best.

We're sure Estevao will be the next man on – but still, the fact he's not even first sub anymore is not great for him. His frustrating will only be growing watching Pedro Neto toil on the right flank for 90 minutes.

Jordan Henderson was the outstanding Chelsea player in the first half, not for doing anything flashy but just for giving this team some calm and control in midfield.

Henderson is making his debut tonight, a big moment for him and for Chelsea as they try to figure out their midfield depth chart.
