The Miami Dolphins took on the Atlanta Falcons on Friday at Hard Rock Stadium, and they lost the preseason finale 17-12, which dropped Jeff Hafley's team to 0-3 in their exhibition games.

Miami opted not to play some players due to injuries, including quarterback Quinn Ewers and rookie linebacker Jacob Rodriguez. After the game, Hafley provided status updates for them.

"Quinn, we tried to get back into practice this week, but never truly felt comfortable enough to move around, to be able to go out and play in a live setting," Hafley said. "Jacob, same thing. Jacob didn't practice the last few days. Jacob will be day-to-day, but he was not able to play today."

Ewers' spot on the roster isn't guaranteed because he's struggled throughout camp and the preseason. He could've used a strong performance on Friday to really solidify his spot. Now, Miami could either run with one of their other options or possibly search the waiver wire for another quarterback to back up Willis.

Rodriguez will be on the roster for Week 1 and will be playing a lot this year. He could even be one of Miami's starting inside linebackers once he's good to go.
