LA Knight, Tiffany Stratton, Real Winners and Losers of WWE Money in the Bank Match Card
The Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana hosted the 2026 edition of WWE Money in the Bank, highlighted by two massive ladder matches.
The Smoothie King Center in New Orleans hosted the 2026 edition of WWE Money in the Bank, highlighted by the same-titled men's and women's ladder matches.
Roman Reigns successfully defended the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight, but Stephanie Vaquer lost the Women's World Championship to Liv Morgan in a Triple Threat match that also included Becky Lynch.
Penta and Tiffany Stratton won the Money in the Bank ladder matches to earn a shot at a future world championship.
Check out the analysis below, looking at the biggest winners and losers from Saturday's premium live event.
LA Knight looked great against Roman Reigns, and it was clear that The OTC wanted fans to come out of this looking at The Megastar as a big deal.
However, it is hard to see the path forward for Knight to get back to world title contention after this clean loss.
Nearly 44 years old, The Megastar has lost multiple times to the biggest name in WWE. If this was not the time for him to win, it seems unlikely it ever will be his time.
It is far more likely Knight will take a step down to challenging for the Intercontinental Championship for the next step of his career.
Given his age, it is hard to imagine The Megastar has too many "next steps" left in his career.
While The 946 did not have a match on the Money in the Bank card, the group did find a way to make an impact, brawling with The Usos and Solo Sikoa all the way out of the arena.
Royce Keys and OTM continue to look like threats to everyone, especially coming after Roman Reigns.
If The 946 can win at Survivor Series: WarGames next month, Keys could be challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship in the near future.
It is rare for a new stable to feel this important to the product, and WWE must maintain that momentum even as the group faces top names.
Roxanne Perez came into Money in the Bank as a strong contender to win the women's ladder match despite what WWE may have portrayed on screen.
Over her first year on the main roster, The Prodigy has done everything right and set herself up for a rise on the card that could solidify her spot at 24 years old.
However, after losing on Saturday night, her path to gold is entirely uncertain.
Perez's stablemate, Liv Morgan, is now the top champion, leaving The Prodigy without a clear path to gold.
Unless Perez turns babyface and leaves The Judgment Day, she will likely remain sidelined within the group for a while.
Tiffany Stratton became the first woman to win Money in the Bank in two different years, following her 2024 victory.
After her quick rise up the card upon her SmackDown arrival in 2024, Stratton's first world title reign was supposed to establish her. Instead, poorly chosen rivalries with Nia Jax, Charlotte Flair and Jade Cargill never let her truly show off.
This time around, her path to the gold goes through her friend and WWE women's champion, Chelsea Green.
This is an intriguing drama that could lead Stratton back to the dastardly heel era that made her a star in NXT.
The drama between The Center of the Universe and Green could be substantial enough to carry both all the way to WrestleMania 43.
Is there a bigger loser coming out of Money in the Bank than Bronson Reed?
For the first time, a man had kicked out of the Tsunami and did so after two brass-knuckle punches as well.
Oba Femi looked a level above Reed—even though the Australian beat Roman Reigns last year.
While the clear focus was to make The Ruler look like no one could stop him on his ascent to Roman Reigns, it did not need to come at Reed's expense.
It will take a while to rehabilitate Reed's monster heel image after this defeat.
Stephanie Vaquer won back her Women's World Championship just 28 days ago, given an all-time feel-good moment by winning the gold in her home country of Chile.
However, it did come as a non-televised house show, so Vaquer never got to win or defend her title on TV before Liv Morgan snatched it back from her.
By the end of the match, it was clear that this match was playing out the exact same way it would have if Liv was already the champion going in.
It made La Primera look like she was a transitional champion, padding her own and Liv's championship numbers for the future.
This is a shame because the real money match coming out of this was La Primera vs. Becky Lynch, but that does not look like it will be for gold.
Who would have expected what would become of Liv Morgan in 2022 when she first won the women's Money in the Bank briefcase in a major upset?
She is now a four-time world champion and looks fairly safe to run all the way to WrestleMania 43 with the gold.
Much like in her previous reign, she is unlikely to defend her title for the rest of the year since Crown Jewel and Survivor Series will probably see her in non-title action.
Hopefully, there is some plan for Morgan to defend the gold now and then on TV though before 'Mania as both Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer have strong cases for singles title matches.
WWE may see Morgan as the top woman on Raw, but fans are going to lose faith quickly if she continues to be all flash and no substance as champion.
At the start of 2026, Bron Breakker appeared poised to dethrone CM Punk as world heavyweight champion and carry the title into WrestleMania 42.
Instead, a loss to The Best in the World followed by an injury left him completely off the 'Mania card. His follow-up feud with Seth Rollins also sent him further out of the title picture.
At this point, Money in the Bank looked to be the only way for Breakker to end 2026 with a world title around his waist.
He did steal the show in the men's ladder match, delivering the most memorable spots of the night. Commentator Michael Cole even called him the MVP.
However, it was not to be, and it looks like he will go on to feud with Je'Von Evans into the new year while Roman Reigns deals with The 946.
Perhaps Breakker will win the 2027 men's Royal Rumble match, but similar hopes for 2026 did not pan out.
Je'Von Evans never seemed likely to win the 2026 men's Money in the Bank ladder match, but his role in the contest was far more substantial than expected.
The Young OG was initial slotted as the spot man, flying off ladders onto everyone in his path. Instead, Bron Breakker took him out of the action early with a barricade spear.
This led to a stretcher spot that allowed Evans to return in front of an excited crowd, coming out of an ambulance to beat down everyone.
His match ended with the biggest spot of the night as Breakker sent him crashing off a ladder through an ambulance roof, which may end up being even more memorable as a moment than the actual win.
The Young OG comes out of Saturday looking like a babyface on the rise. He can take the fight directly to The Vision, especially Breakker.
If the support behind Evans throughout the match is any indication, The Young OG looks ready to fly to gold in 2027.
Penta's meteoric rise in 2026 has exceeded expectations and made him one of WWE's top stars.
After a strong run as intercontinental champion and a match with Roman Reigns that had fans questioning why he lost, the luchador has become a top man.
If his win in the men's Money in the Bank ladder match is anything to go by, Penta is on his way to capturing the top prize.
Best bets would be on him dethroning Sami Zayn since Roman Reigns' path to Oba Femi looks clearer than ever.
Penta is certainly ready for the responsibility of carrying SmackDown into 2027 through his memorable performances as one of the best luchadors in the world today.
