Vikings, Bears inactive lists for Soldier Field showdown

There aren't any major developments to report as the kickoff between the Vikings and Bears approaches at 12 p.m. CT in Chicago .

Both teams issued their respective inactive reports, and there are no surprises. The big news it that Vikings right tackle Brian O'Neill, who was questionable with a knee injury that he sustained during practice on Wednesday, is good to go.

The Bears entered with a clean injury report, so the five players they made inactive weren't expected to impact the game anyway. Case Keenum is Chicago's emergency third-string quarterback.

The Vikings will be without quarterback Kyler Murray (concussion), running back Jordan Mason (thumb), and wide receiver Jauan Jennings (personal). Mason was placed on short-term injured reserve earlier in the week. Murray was ruled out on Friday, as was Jennings, who has been away from the team after a reported death in his family.

Murray is expected to clear the concussion protocol early this week. If he doesn't have a setback, all signs point to him taking over as Minnesota 's starting quarterback in Week 3 against Tampa Bay.

Carson Wentz is starting at quarterback today, and J.J. McCarthy is the backup. McCarthy led the Vikings to a thrilling victory at Soldier Field in Week 1 last season.

The biggest factor in today's game could be the weather, as rain and winds gusting up to 30 mph are possible at Soldier Field.
