Statler moves forward with plans for Josh Allen Gatorade banner

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen could soon make a reappearance on one of Buffalo's most prominent buildings.

The Statler building is moving forward with its plans to put up a massive temporary banner featuring Allen. The planning board approved the variances at a meeting on Wednesday.

According to documents submitted to the city's zoning board of appeals, the banner will be about 110 feet by 120 feet.

A rendering shows a black and white photo of Allen and text that says "It Lives Here" with Gatorade and Bills logos.

The proposed banner would be up for about six months during the NFL season.

On Wednesday, an attorney representing the Statler went before the zoning board of appeals, requesting a variance for rules regarding the size of a sign, the length of time it's displayed and window obstruction rules. The variance for those requests was approved.

Fans may remember the popular Gatorade banner featuring Allen that was temporarily displayed in September 2024.
