Cathedral Prep wins at Sharon for first time in 30 years
The Cathedral Prep Ramblers, aided by two early touchdowns, held on to win its first game at Sharon in 30 years.
SHARON — Avenging a football loss from 30 years ago wasn't on Cathedral Prep's emotional radar after its Aug. 28 game at Sharon.
The Ramblers still celebrated like that mattered.
Prep, which only won three games last year and sat out postseason play for the first time since 1997, took an early 13-point lead and then persevered for a 15-13 victory at Sharon Tiger Stadium.
Veteran head coach Mike Mischler, not one for hyperbole, said it ranked among the most satisfying wins in that role for his alma mater's program.
The first of Mischler's three tenures in charge of the Ramblers was 1998, which was two years after Prep last played at Sharon. The Tigers won 19-10.
Prep also beat a Sharon team that seeks to repeat as District 10's Class 3A champion.
