Braves News: Atlanta advances to NLDS, series start times, and more
Atlanta Braves news and notes from Thursday.
The Atlanta Braves punched their ticket to the National League Division Series after defeating the Philadelphia Phillies 6-2 on Thursday night. Ray Kerr made his postseason debut, giving the Braves everything they asked for and more. He went 3.1 innings and allowed just one hit. He walked one and struck out two.
The Braves' bats came up huge, too, and Atlanta took control early after Michael Harris II's three-run shot in the first inning. Ozzie Albies and Matt Olson homered later in the game to tack on some insurance.
Up next, the Braves head to LA and go toe-to-toe with the Dodgers. The series gets underway Saturday afternoon.
Cleveland Guardians right-hander Colin Holderman will miss the remainder of the postseason . He is scheduled to have surgery on his right wrist.
