Here's everything Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud had to say before the team's road trip to London for a Week 6 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars , including his thoughts on the reunion with Marvin Harrison Jr., his role in the offense and more.

Question: On reconnecting with WR Marvin Harrison Jr.

C.J. Stroud: "I'm happy to have 'Marv'. Everybody's been saying how much of a good dude he is, how nice he's been. It's nice to have my guy back and I'm excited to be rolling with him."

Q: On first meeting WR Marvin Harrison Jr.

Stroud: "His freshman year, my sophomore year, that was my first year starting. He really didn't play much, but he always showed up in practice. Most people probably remember him from the Rose Bowl. I think he had three touchdowns and 100-some yards, but Jaxon [Smith-Njigba] had a great game as well. I've always known he was special when he came in, he was super ahead of his game, just really mature. Him and Emeka [Egbuka] were some of the most mature freshmen that I've been around and then just his work ethic and it's the same thing now. Those are kind of some of the memories that I have."

On WR Marvin Harrison Jr.'s strengths as a receiver

Stroud: "I would just say his route running. He's really good at running great routes. He gets open on time, I think he's a very quarterback-friendly receiver. The better you are with getting the ball at your hands on time, the better he is. I think that's why him and I had so much success because I'm a pocket quarterback that likes to throw it to him on time. That's when he's at his best. That's one of the great things he does."

Q: On WR Marvin Harrison Jr. fitting into the Texans ' culture

Stroud: "He'll fit in fine. He's all about what we believe in this organization and be great for us."

Q: On helping get WR Marvin Harrison Jr. up to speed

Stroud: "He has to learn it and he's a really smart kid. He's somebody who I'm not worried about. At the end of the day it's football. You run some very similar routes, just different ways. I'm very vocal on how I like things done. He knows that. We've had a conversations, we'll continue to just get on the same page, but a lot of the things are similar from where he's coming from. I think just the way I talk to him I think it helps."

Q: On preparing for the London game in Week 6

Stroud: "It's really just nutrition. Making sure I'm drinking enough fluids to keep my body hydrated and just sleeping on the right time zones and just adjust that way. I'm trying my best to be ready for when we go there and you have to play a game. I'm trying my best to just try new things and be adjusted."

Q: On the plan for the plane ride to London

Stroud: "Whatever they ask me to do. I think they're asking us to sleep as much as we can. I'll probably just sleep."

Q: On whether he helped push to trade for WR Marvin Harrison Jr.

Stroud: "I just asked for them to include me in things like that since I got here. I was just appreciative that they gave me an opportunity to even explain who I thought he was, the player I thought he was. I really don't have like that type of push or say so. I try to do my job and leave it up to our front office to make those decisions. I'm very happy he's here."

Q: On being a resource for WR Marvin Harrison Jr.

Stroud: "I don't think anybody ever is a finished product. You're always learning ways to get better. You're always learning ways to get better at what you're already good at. I think there are two different types of perspectives you can look from. You can look from the world's perspective of who people think you are or yourself. I think that's where I've learned that it doesn't really matter what people say. They can't really stop or start what you have going on. Then you have your perspective of who you think you are, who you believe you can be. I think that's more important. For Marvin he knows that. He's a heck of a player. I don't agree with some of the things that are being said about him. At the end of the day, that's what people who are on the outside are saying. I'm a firm believer of really focus on what you can control and then whatever other people say or have their opinions, kudos to them. They have platforms and things that they can say on, but that doesn't really affect you unless you make it. I think he'll be fine. I try to just be [a resource] to him if I need to. He's a confident dude. He'll be fine."

Stroud: "It's taken time. I'm still working on it now. I remember my rookie year, I was playing really well and everybody was gassing me up. I remember a time in college where everybody was really hard on me and really critical and then I kind of flipped the script and I started playing really well and everybody started loving me. I was like, 'Man, that's like kind of like weird.' People were just up and down. That was like the first time I've dealt with it. Then my rookie season, having like a great year, I forget who we played, but I had a really good game and I was up here and somebody asked me a question and I was like, 'I can't fall in love with the cheers or the boos, you have to stay very even keel.' And then last year, same thing for me. At the end of the day, people are going to have their opinion. They're going to have their critiques and rightfully so, people get paid a lot of money to judge people on what they're doing and we're in the entertainment business. We're not fined to not be critiqued. It's up to you to let that affect you or not. Every year is different. I grow, I can't say like I've arrived more than I was or it's just a different year, I'm a different human, I'm a different person. I make different decisions, I'm just different and I'll just try my best to let what I control be my mindset."

Stroud: "Very talented group. Somebody I've had a lot of history with. They've done a great job. Like you said, stopping the run. Josh Hines-Allen [Arik] Armstead and [Travon] Walker. I think they're great players. I think No. 23 [Foyesade Oluokoun], one of the best linebackers, very underrated. Then in the back end, they've been playing well as well. Really keeping a lot of teams to less points and I think they do a good job and changing up a lot of blitzes and things like that. I think they're a great group and we have to be prepared."

Q: On what excites him about the London trip

Stroud: "I would just say just playing in front of a different fan base. I think it's cool. I'm very grateful and appreciative to have this opportunity to play every week in the NFL, to even practice. I try not to take anything for granted. Having an opportunity to like play this game internationally, it's just dope to me. I'm excited to just go out there and see a different atmosphere. It might be very exciting or underwhelming. It's just kind of cool to like have like a little bit of a unknowingness to the environment we're playing in. It's a great team and a great opponent. I think it's going to be fun."

Stroud: "He brings explosiveness. He brings a grit. He's a very tough individual. Been through a lot in his life, also in his career. He's a home run hitter. If you give him a chance, he'll make you pay. Great out of the backfield catching the ball. I think he's very versatile and does a lot of great things."
