USC breaks out Trojan beer swords, giant 'Juice Boxes' to start season

Well, USC is sure playing up the novelty beverages this season.

· 234 words

The USC Trojans broke out two incredibly odd "drinking" devices on Saturday at the L.A. Coliseum during the team's season-opening victory against San Jose State.

First, the team broke out big USC "Juice Boxes" on the sideline, comically large juice boxes made to celebrate that reminded us of those novelty items they give to folks who score a touchdown.

These huge "Juice Boxes" are light enough to hold up in the air on the sideline and fake-looking enough to look like abandoned props from the old Food Rocks show at EPCOT in Disney World.

Do you want a "Juice Box?" Well, play for USC and "bring the juice" on the field, and you may get to hoist one. We're assuming there wasn't actual juice in those "Juice Boxes," just the kind of juice that fuels good football.

USC fans might have gotten the cooler end of the deal because they could purchase Trojan beer swords.

Yes, Trojan beer swords. Sword-like doohickeys that you can drink beer out of at a USC game.

You literally can drink beer out of a sword. This is a real thing. They sold them at the USC game on Saturday.

Whether it's a "Juice Box" or a Trojan Beer sword, the "beverage items" at USC games this fall sure won't be boring.

The team plays at home against Fresno State on Sept. 4 at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
