The wait for Saints wide receiver Jordyn Tyson to make his NFL debut will continue until at least Week 9.

General Manager Mickey Loomis told reporters at a Wednesday press conference that the first-round pick will not practice with the team in Paris ahead of this Sunday's game against the Steelers. Tyson has been out since suffering a hamstring injury in mid-August, although head coach Kellen Moore said that it was unrelated to previous hamstring issues while he was in college.

Loomis said that the rookie is improving and "we feel like we're getting closer," but declined to offer a "specific timetable" for him to get on the field.

The Saints have a bye in Week 8, so their Week 9 home game against the Browns will be the earliest possible date for Tyson to join the lineup. Given the length of his absence and history of hamstring issues, a longer ramp up time might be in the cards once Tyson does return to practice.
