Fantasy football start or sit Week 1: Jadarian Price, George Holani, Rashid Shaheed

Some fantasy football start or sit advice for Seahawks running backs Jadarian Price and George Holani, and wide receiver Rashid Shaheed.

· 520 words

Running backs Jadarian Price and George Holani and wide receiver Rashid Shaheed will all be in the lineup for the Seattle Seahawks when they begin the 2026 NFL season on Wednesday night against the New England Patriots .

The Seahawks are turning the page to a new era in the backfield after allowing Super Bowl MVP and running back Kenneth Walker to leave to the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency.

One of the players returning from last season is running back Zach Charbonnet , but he is on physically unable to perform list as he continues to recover from a torn ACL and will miss at least the first four games.

That leaves the backfield work to Price and Holani, and Emmanuel Wilson could mix in, also.

So, who is the better start in fantasy football between Price and Holani? And is Shaheed worthy of a spot in your lineup in Week 1?

We answer those questions with our start or sit advice for all three players.

Price was the Seahawks' first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft and the belief is that he will lead the backfield in Week 1, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson , who also notes that fellow back, George Holani , will be involved as well.

"The best guess is that the Seahawks are planning, for now, to roll with (Jadarian) Price as their lead back while mixing in a heavy dose of George Holani, whose receiving and pass-blocking skills seem perfectly suited for third-down work," Henderson wrote.

With the expectation that Price is likely to at least be in control of early-down work, he should garner enough volume to return solid flex value in Week 1.

Holani is listed as the No. 1 back on the depth chart , but based on Henderson's note above, it looks like he's going to mostly be on the field on third downs.

Without a ton of certainty, it's hard to trust a back like Holani who may be fully dependent on receiving production.

The veteran should be left on the bench in Week 1.

Shaheed was brought over in a trade deadline deal with the New Orleans Saints last season and the Seahawks decided to bring him back this offseason.

Shaheed had a few good games with Seattle in the regular season in 2025, with four catches for 67 yards in one game and five catches for 74 yards in another.

Outside of those two contests, Shaheed didn't do much, tallying 125 yards on 18 catches over his other 10 games (including playoffs).

From Week 10 through Week 18, Shaheed ranked as WR61 overall, per Fantasy Pros .

Keep Shaheed out of starting lineups in Week 1.
