Dan Graziano's bold prediction for the 2026 Indianapolis Colts centers around WR Josh Downs.

Ahead of the 2026 regular season starting, ESPN's Dan Graziano put together his bold but realistic predictions for each NFL team. His prediction for the Indianapolis Colts centered around wide receiver Josh Downs.

In an offense that features Alec Pierce's big-play ability and Tyler Warren's high-level production from the tight end position, Graziano believes that Downs can lead the team in receiving this season.

Graziano writes that with Pierce sidelined during training camp, the team was unable to implement his expanded role within the offense. He also points out that with Michael Pittman and his 110 targets from the 2026 season now in Pittsburgh, there will be more opportunities available for Downs.

The early expectation this season is that Downs will see more opportunities to line up outside as well, creating more chances to get the ball on intermediate and downfield routes, potentially leading to more production.

In terms of raw production last season, Downs took a step back, but he still remained an efficient target and a go-to option for Daniel Jones on third downs.

Throughout the offseason, the Colts have remained bullish on Downs' ability to make a big impact this season.

"I think getting lost in this a little bit is ... Josh Downs," GM Chris Ballard said earlier this offseason, via ESPN's Stephen Holder . "I think Josh Downs is freaking good. I do. I've always thought he's good. I think allowing him some more opportunities, we're going to see some of the special stuff you've seen in the past, but more."
