England vs Sri Lanka 2nd T20I prediction, lineups and pitch report as Brook eyes series win in Cardiff

England will look to wrap up the series when they host Sri Lanka in the second T20I at Sophia Gardens on Wednesday and arrive in Cardiff full of confidence after a night to remember in Southampton . Harry Brook made batting look almost unfair, cruising to an unbeaten 114 off just 42 balls, and few sides recover easily from that kind of demolition.

Jos Buttler kept the pressure on at the other end with a rapid 80, and by the time England had posted 254 for 4, the game already felt beyond Sri Lanka. So it proved, as their innings unravelled for 135 well before the 20 overs were up.

Sri Lanka now find themselves searching for answers, and quickly. Charith Asalanka's side cannot afford another off night in Cardiff, where history has often sided with whoever wins the toss and bowls first

England vs. Sri Lanka Prediction: Who Will Win?

England hold a commanding 15-4 head-to-head record over Sri Lanka in T20Is and that gulf showed again in the series opener where a 114-run performance from Brook and an unbeaten stand with Buttler carried them to 254 for 4 before Sri Lanka folded for 135.

Sophia Gardens' own numbers add weight to England's case. Eight of the last 12 matches there have gone to the side bowling first, and the average first innings score of 145 sits well within range of what England's batting order — now mentored by Kevin Pietersen — produced just two days ago.

Sri Lanka's bowlers conceded that total without much control in Southampton and nothing in their recent T20 results suggests a quick fix
