“LeBron James Hates the Country that Made Him a Billionaire”: Journalist Sounds Off After Golf Swing Practice During National Anthem

LeBron James has started his 76ers career with a bang. Philadelphia beat the defending-champion Knicks, 106-100, in his first game. In his second game, the 76ers beat James' former team, the Cavaliers, 114-106 on Thursday.

He had 14 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists in the first game, and 17 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and three steals in the second. However, his strong start is the least-discussed part of James' season.

James has faced backlash after he was seen practicing his golf swing during the national anthem on Tuesday. Among others, journalist Clay Travis also presented his negative views on James' actions.

"LeBron would never disrespect the Chinese national anthem like he did the American national anthem this week. LeBron hates the country that made him a billionaire. His brain is broken," Travis captioned his post.

"This is insanely disrespectful. The President was right to call him out for this. He knows all the cameras are gonna be on him. It's not only disrespectful to everyone that has given him this tremendous opportunity but the singer is on the floor right there, singing the national anthem. A highly trained, Grammy winning, Broadway celebrity, who is there putting their heart and soul in that performance. Everyone else on the entire team is able to behave like an adult," Travis said .

President Donald Trump calls out LeBron James

President Trump was fuming after LeBron's actions during the national anthem.

"While listening to our National Anthem, LeBron James disrespects our Country! I said right from the beginning that he's no good, a TOTAL DISGRACE. LeBron James should apologize to all of those Great American Warriors and Heroes who died for the American Flag, and all that our Country stands for! President DONALD J. TRUMP," he said on Truth Social.

LeBron brushed off the controversy, calling it a "slow news day," to the reporter who asked for his reply to Trump's comments.
