Dak Prescott is entering his 11th season as the starting quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys , and the expectations surrounding him remain as high as ever. Heading into the 2026 campaign, Prescott continues to carry the pressure that comes with being the leader of one of the NFL's most closely followed franchises, while also holding himself to the same lofty standards he has maintained throughout his career.

ESPN's Todd Archer shared some quick observations from the Cowboys' 14th practice, which was also the team's first session at The Star. One of the biggest moments came early in the team period when Prescott briefly caused concern across the facility.

On just the second play, Prescott appeared to get his feet tangled while taking the snap and fell to the ground as he attempted to hand the ball off to Malik Davis . He managed to flip the ball to Davis while going down, avoiding a potentially costly mistake.

Fortunately for Dallas, the scare was short-lived. Prescott quickly got back to his feet and showed no signs of being seriously hurt, immediately easing concerns from the coaching staff, teammates and everyone watching from the Ford Center.

Prescott also delivered one of the standout plays of the night. The best catch of the session belonged to tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford , who made an impressive grab in the end zone on a Prescott pass.

With a defender positioned in his way, Spann-Ford had to reach back to secure the football. Prescott deserves plenty of credit for the play as well, as he stepped up to avoid pressure and placed the pass in a spot where only Spann-Ford had a realistic chance to make the catch.
