Former Los Angeles Lakers Guard Makes Bold Proclamation About Luka Doncic’s Place Among the Greatest PGs

Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic is already considered one of the league's best guards, especially after winning the scoring title last season. He still has a long way to go in his NBA career, but Lance Stephenson already believes Doncic is among the best floor generals in league history.

"Isiah Thomas. This is not in order. Magic Johnson. Jason Kidd. Stephen Curry. That's four? I got Luka," Stephenson said on the 3's and Ones podcast.

"Right now, it is. But I agree, if he stays at this pace, Luka is top-five ever. Yeah, for sure," added American music artist Russ to double down on Stephenson's take.

At 27 years old, Doncic has already achieved a lot in his career, including six All-Star selections, six All-NBA First Team selections, two scoring titles, and one Western Conference Finals MVP, among others. As he approaches his third year with the Los Angeles Lakers, Doncic is expected to carry the team, especially with LeBron James no longer around.

With LeBron James joining the Philadelphia 76ers, the Los Angeles Lakers made it a point to surround Luka Doncic with athleticism, which is why they signed Ziaire Williams to a one-year contract.

In an exclusive interview with Benjamin Royer of The Orange County Register, Williams detailed his upcoming role for the Los Angeles Lakers this year.

"Obviously Luka (Doncic) and AR (Austin Reaves) are going to be the main primary ball handlers," Williams stated. "So just playing off them, being able to shoot, cut, make plays in transition, stuff like that. They thought it was a great fit for me to be here, and the feeling was mutual."

"I can tell (Doncic's) leadership. He wants to step up even more this year. I'm excited, man. I'm really excited to play with him. And of course, when we're playing basketball, it's just he makes the game just so easy and looks so simple. He's going to make my life a lot easier for sure," he added.
