Manning entered the 2025 season surrounded by considerable Heisman Trophy hype and expectations. Although he struggled at times early in the campaign, he gradually found his rhythm and displayed the explosive playmaking ability that made him one of the most highly anticipated quarterbacks in the country.

In the Citrus Bowl against Michigan , he recorded 376 total yards and four touchdowns as Texas secured a 41-27 victory. He passed for 221 yards and two touchdowns while adding a career-high 155 rushing yards and two more scores on the ground.

If Manning can build on that late-season momentum, improve his efficiency and continue limiting turnovers, he could put himself in the middle of the Heisman conversation once again while potentially leading Texas on another deep College Football Playoff run.
