Patricio Pitbull wasn't the only one with that moniker who secured a massive knockout win last night (Sat., Sept, 19, 2026), as Pitbull Cruz locked one down himself a few hours later in his WBC Super Lightweight title fight against Nestor Bravo in San Diego, California.

Cruz and Bravo had a lot of tension coming into the fight, though it was Cruz who was getting the better of the exchanges once the action got started, knocking him down in the very first round. But it got a bit sloppy at times, with referee Thomas Taylor having to constantly scold Bravo for holding a bit too much for his liking. Bravo was deducted a point on two occasions in the first four rounds alone for picking Pitbull up and slamming him to the canvas. Furthermore, the official even warned him that he was close to getting disqualified.

In round six, however, Cruz took it out of the referee and judges hands by tagging Bravo with a nasty left hook that dropped him to the canvas. Bravo never got back up to answer the 10 count, though we can't look past the fact that Taylor seemed to count a bit faster than usual.

Still, it was obvious Cruz was simply too much for Bravo, and even the commentators were accusing the challenger of simply looking for a way out of the fight with his dirty tactics.

Afterward, Cruz called out WBC Welterweight champion Ryan Garcia — who is fresh off a knockout win over Conor Benn — to a fight. Not one to sit idle without a response, Garcia accepted the challenge for an end-of-the-year showdown.
