Someone should call the fire department because Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale is still aflame after her fiery performance against the Golden State Valkyries in Game 2 of their first-round series in the playoffs at College Park Center on Wednesday.

Ogunbowale went Human Torch on the Valkyries, scoring a career-high 45 points to lead the Wings to the hard-earned victory in overtime, 108-100, and force a winner-take-all. She added seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals. She went 12-of-23, including 5-of-8 from long range. She shot 16-of-18 from the free-throw line.

The 29-year-old guard also set a league record for most points in a game in the playoffs, as noted by ESPN's Alexa Philippou.

Ogunbowale surpassed the 42-point record shared by Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier , New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart , and WNBA legend Angela McCoughtry.

Ogunbowale was all sorts of heroic. She also sent the game into overtime after draining a fallaway three-pointer with 4.6 seconds left in regulation.

The three-time All-WNBA and four-time All-Star could not have picked a better time to explode, as the Wings were on the verge of elimination. She carried the cudgels, with Paige Bueckers and Jessica Sheppard struggling mightily on offense .

Bueckers had 10 points on 3-of-13 shooting, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals, while Sheppard tallied four points on five attempts, eight rebounds, and six assists.

Alysha Clark provided support for Ogunbowale, dropping 21 points on 6-of-7 shooting, including 3-of-4 from long distance, off the bench.

Ogunbowale beat her previous career-best of 41 points, which she hung on the Seattle Storm in 2023.
