After an exciting start to the high school football season, it's time to look back on the best performances.

The junior running back rushed 30 times for 203 yards and three touchdowns in a 27-21 win over Morris Catholic on Aug. 28. Alderson rushed for 4-yard touchdown runs in the second and third quarter as the Patriots built a 21-12 lead. Alderson's 12-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter proved to be the difference in the win.

The senior wide receiver hauled in eight catches for 220 yards and three receiving touchdowns in a 48-26 loss to Mountain Lakes on Aug. 28. Connolly caught a 29-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter to give the Falcons a 6-0 lead. Connolly then bolted down the field for an 85-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter, followed by a 9-yard touchdown catch in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 21-20.

The junior running back rushed nine times for a career-best 137 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-0 win over Asbury Park on Aug. 27. Cotter busted through with touchdown runs of 45 and 55 yards in the second quarter to give the Braves a halftime lead before weather abruptly ended the remainder of the game.

The junior quarterback completed four of his five passes for 75 yards and two passing touchdowns in a 52-6 win over Garfield on Aug. 27. Falco also rushed 13 times for 144 yards and three rushing touchdowns in the victory. Falco's touchdown runs of 34 yards, 18 yards and 9 yards all came on consecutive drives between the first and second quarters.

The junior running back rushed 28 times for 218 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-20 win over Mendham on Aug. 28. Frayne scored the first two touchdowns of the night for the Wolfpack, giving his team the lead both times. Frayne's third touchdown of the game, a 28-yard run in the third quarter, gave West Morris a 26-13 lead over their rival.

The senior quarterback completed 13 of 18 passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-12 win over Randolph on Aug. 27. Hogan also rushed for 52 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. Hogan completed touchdowns passes to Nick Lagunowich and Yuki Stevenson in the first half of the win.

The junior running back/linebacker had 10 tackles, including four sacks and a forced fumble, in a 14-6 win over West Milford on Aug. 29. Parise began High Point's scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Parise also is the team's kicker, connecting on both extra point attempts and booming a 35-yard punt.

The senior running back/linebacker rushed for 62 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-7 win over Hamilton West on Aug. 29. Zuravnsky had rushing touchdowns of 5 and 3 yards as the Golden Eagles built a 28-7 lead in the first quarter. Zuravnsky also returned an interception 34 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter.
