Brewers and Rays have a lot in common, including Culver's sponsorships
In a series full of first times, the Brewers and Rays are the only two MLB teams with Culver's in-game promo.
In right-center field of Tropicana Field, the home of the Tampa Bay Rays , lies a Culver's sponsorship.
As the only two major league teams with Culver's as a partner, you could say the 'Culver's Classic' has officially arrived.
Both teams run Culver's-related promotions during home games.
In Tampa, the Rays do " Curds in the Third ," where fans get free cheese curds if the Rays score a run in the third inning.
Similarly for the Brewers, " Strikeouts for Custard ," gives fans free custard if a Brewers pitcher notches a strikeout in the third frame.
The fast-food burger chain has obvious ties to Wisconsin, where the restaurant was founded and still has the most locations. Culver's is also the official jersey patch sponsor of the Wisconsin Badgers and a longtime sponsor of Wisconsin athletics.
Still, Florida is one of the top three of states with the most Culver's locations, sitting at third in the nation with 138 locations.
As for Wisconsin, the state has 157 Culver's, accounting for about 14% of Culver's restaurants. Meanwhile, Florida sits behind Illinois, accounting for 12% of Culver's locations.
In October, Culver's announced a " Brew Crew Cheesecake ," that combines Culver's Vanilla Fresh Frozen Custard with cheesecake and blueberries, inspired by the Brewers' blue-and-gold colors.
The series is only the second World Series where two franchises who have never won an MLB championship are meeting in the Fall Classic. It is also the first time that two Culver's-sponsored teams are meeting in the World Series. Coincidence?
