Bristol Boils Over: Ryan Blaney and Carson Hocevar Trade Punches After Race!

The fireworks at Bristol Motor Speedway didn't stop when the checkered flag flew.

Ryan Blaney and Carson Hocevar got into a physical altercation on pit road Saturday night following the Bass Pro Shops Night Race, adding even more drama to an already chaotic night.

The tension started with 43 laps remaining.

Blaney had been one of the dominant drivers all night, leading a race-high 202 laps and winning Stage 2. He was battling near the front when Hocevar made contact with the rear of Blaney's No. 12 Ford. Blaney spun into the outside wall, ending his race and leaving him with a 33rd-place finish.

Hocevar continued on and eventually finished third.

After climbing from his damaged car, Blaney made it clear that he believed Hocevar was responsible for the wreck. Hocevar, however, defended his move and said he wasn't trying to wreck Blaney.

After the race, the disagreement turned physical.

Blaney approached Hocevar on pit road and shoved him. Hocevar immediately responded with punches, and Blaney fired back before members of both teams rushed in to separate the drivers.

Hocevar later explained that there wasn't much conversation before the fight broke out. He said Blaney approached him and that he wasn't going to simply stand there and take it.

Blaney, meanwhile, maintained that Hocevar hadn't lifted when the two made contact and that the crash cost him a chance to compete for the victory.

The fight overshadowed what had already been an incredible night of racing.

Joey Logano eventually won the race, with Kyle Larson finishing second and Hocevar recovering to finish third. Blaney's crash, however, completely changed the championship picture for the night.

Both Blaney and Hocevar are competing in the Chase, and the Bristol incident has added a new layer to their rivalry heading into the remaining playoff races.

Then Blaney and Hocevar made sure the drama continued after the checkered flag.
