Cornerback Jalen Ramsey was unexpectedly listed as questionable when the Pittsburgh Steelers came out with their Week 5 injury report on Friday afternoon.

Ramsey has been playing through a fractured right wrist that he suffered in Week 3 against the Cincinnati Bengals. He broke his wrist in the first quarter of that game, and didn't miss a single snap of action.

He was limited in practice in all three Week 4 sessions, but once again played a normal workload against the Cleveland Browns last Thursday night.

With the extra time off, it seemed likely that Ramsey would be good to go entering Week 5, but he missed practice on Wednesday and was limited on Thursday and Friday, prompting the team to list him as questionable to face to the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday.

Ramsey said he tries to play through the pain when he can, but admitted that even he has his limits in that regard.

"I just like playing football, so I try to tough it out when I can," he said on Friday. "You can't all the time."

If Ramsey were to miss Sunday's game or not be able play his normal workload, veteran backup Brandin Echols would likely step into his slot cornerback role, with the combination of Jaquan Brisker , Robert Spears-Jennings and Rayshawn Jenkins picking up the safety portion of Ramsey's two-pronged role.

The Steelers will have their final practice of the week on Saturday before Sunday's game and could adjust Ramsey's injury status at that time.
