Wild fans can now watch games on DirecTV after new NHL agreement
You can now watch Minnesota Wild games on DirecTV.
After a long negotiating period, DirecTV announced a new multiyear distribution agreement with the NHL on Saturday to distribute numerous streaming services, including Minnesota's new Wild+.
The Wild's new TV deal has not been a smooth transition, resulting in numerous sports bars across the state not being able to show the games. Even more fans haven't been able to watch the games at home. DirecTV is one of the biggest cable providers in the state, and its users can now watch the Wild in Minnesota.
"We are committed to keeping fans connected to their favorite teams and giving them more choice and flexibility in how they watch and what they pay," Rob Thun, chief content officer at DirecTV, said in a release. "As local sports distribution evolves, DIRECTV brings team channels, regional sports networks, and other viewing options together to make it easier for fans to follow the teams they love. We're pleased to work with the NHL, NBA, MLB, and others to deliver that experience."
The next opportunity to watch the Wild is Saturday night, when they play the Seattle Kraken at 9 p.m. CT. They play again Sunday against the Vancouver Canucks at 9 p.m.
