Ahead of the 2026 MLB Playoffs, NESN released a hype video that chronicled the team's improbable journey from one of the lowest points of the season to a postseason berth.
"There was not a soul who saw this coming," the video begins.
That sentiment sets the tone for the nearly six-minute look back at a season that appeared to be slipping away before Boston found a way to turn it around.
The Red Sox opened the season with a 9-17 record, including an 0-4 mark against division opponents. The offense struggled, injuries piled up and Boston eventually fell to 18-25.
