Duke Athletics Gets An Interesting New Partner

Duke announced a new partnership Monday with financial services company Edward Jones. The company will help Duke athletes understand their financial situation, which is a big deal. It's pretty unusual for teenagers or young adults to suddenly become rich, and teaching them how to handle that is smart and responsible.

As part of the deal, Edward Jones will get a spot on the Coach K Court, which is phenomenal advertising.

AD Nina King said this: "Edward Jones has approached this partnership with genuine curiosity about what our students and our department need most. The breadth of this relationship says a lot about their desire to connect with our community, and the investment in our student-athletes [makes] it clear that Edward Jones will be a meaningful partner with Duke Athletics for years to come."

Edward Jones, finding a new niche, has also struck deals with UNC and Oregon. It's yet another sign of the rapidly changing times.
