Following his move to the Miami Heat , former Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson gave his thoughts on the newest chapter of his career. After signing with the Mavericks ahead of the 2024-25 season, things never went to plan for Thompson in Dallas , as the infamous Luka Doncic trade changed the team's outlook entirely. After averaging a career-low 11.7 points per game for the Mavericks in what ended up as a 26-56 season last year, the four-time champion felt it was time to move on.

Now in South Beach, Thompson has his sights set on a bounce-back season. In his introductory press conference with the Heat, Thompson said , "It's kind of a redemption season for me to show I can still make an impact on winning and do it consistently."

The former Washington State guard also revealed how much he missed playing in the playoffs, saying , "I just missed out on the postseason. I hate watching from home."

"That's all I want to do these next couple of years. Have a chance to make a deep postseason run."

With a new look Heat roster that includes Giannis Antetokounmpo , Miami seems destined to improve on a 10th-place finish in the Eastern Conference last season.
