Studs and duds from Colts' Week 2 overtime loss vs. Chiefs

The Indianapolis Colts fell just short in overtime to the Kansas City Chiefs . With this loss, the Colts find themselves 0-2 and on a nine-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Looking back at Sunday's game, here are the studs and duds from the Colts' performance.

As he often does, Taylor shouldered the workload on offense. In a game where the Colts totaled 329 yards, Taylor accounted for 132 of those yards. He ran for 92 yards and was also involved in the passing game with four receptions for 40 more yards. He also scored two touchdowns.

Indianapolis generated two sacks and four quarterback hits. Mahomes was pressured on just 22.4% of his dropbacks. The Colts' ability to get after the quarterback was a question mark coming into the season, and through two games it remains one.

There were a lot more short-to-intermediate throws in this game, which was perhaps a product of not having Alec Pierce for much of the game, and Ashton Dulin being ruled out on Friday. But in their absence, Josh Downs provided a go-to presence for Daniel Jones , which he often does. Downs caught 7-of-9 passes for 72 yards -- leading the team in all three categories.

The defense is nowhere near good enough. That's a roster-construction issue, and that ultimately falls on the play caller. The Colts again surrendered over 500 yards of offense. Patrick Mahomes was both efficient and generated chunk plays, while the Chiefs' run game averaged over five yards per carry as a team. There are holes throughout this unit, and it's making things quite difficult for the Colts' own offense.

Shrader was perfect on the night, making all three extra point attempts and all three field goals. This included making a game-tying extra point and a game-tying field goal in the fourth quarter and overtime.
