Moreno believes N’Diaye will surprise a lot of people this season.

When Ousmane N'Diaye committed to Kentucky on April 24, most fans would have been lying if they said they had heard of him.

Now, with the season less than a month away, Big Blue Nation has learned more and more about him over the offseason.

From learning he technically committed while watching the Michael Jackson movie to seeing his elite offensive skills in summer highlights, we've learned a lot more about him since he arrived in the United States from Senegal.

N'Diaye is a 7-foot, 220-pound gifted offensive weapon who can deliver some of the best highlights imaginable, given his size. Stepback threes, ball-handling, violent dunks. He's got a world of potential.

His teammate and sophomore center for Kentucky, Malachi Moreno, was asked about N'Diaye at Media Day and what he has seen from him in the last few months. His response is pretty noteworthy and should get fans excited to watch him.

"He's changed his game a ton. I think the first couple weeks were kind of getting an overall feel for what college basketball is, but ever since then, he is something else. He's shooting the ball, and I think just overall his physicality is just taking a big step forward, and he's going to surprise a lot of people. Might even be an All-American," said Moreno via Wyatt Huff .

That final line makes you take a step back and think: Maybe this guy, seen as a mystery player and a question mark, is just the one we watched in his overseas highlights, and his game may translate perfectly.

Moreno continued, saying, "I think from what I've seen on tapes, I think overseas he was kind of spread out on the floor a little bit more, not asked as much to do a lot in the paint. So I think he's kind of understanding what it is now, and now he's really starting to play. "

Overseas prospects have a wide range of outcomes: some thrive, and some struggle. Based on what Moreno shared, we may have a guy in N'Diaye who is figuring it out and will bring a lot of elite offensive moments to Kentucky this season.

Mark Pope and his staff have coached forwards on opposite ends of the skill spectrum. A guy like Andrew Carr brings a skilled offensive game and can stretch the floor, while a guy like Mouhamed Dioubate brings more physicality and a defensive/rebounding focus to his game.

Ousmane is already turning the heads of people inside the facility, so hopefully, he'll soon be turning the heads of people around the college basketball world.
