Husker Volleyball Takes on Missouri at Wrigley on Sunday

What a wild couple weeks it's been for the Husker Volleyball team.

Next up is MLB Stadium Wrigley Field. The Huskers will be playing baseball style in pinstripe uniforms.

Last NCAA Appearance: 2024- Lost in the Sweet Sixteen

Missouri is in their fourth year with coach Dawn Sullivan. She came to Mizzou in 2023 and was named SEC Coach of the Year. She then guided the Tigers to a Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2024. 2025 was a down season, and they are ready for a tough schedule in 2026.

Missouri and Nebraska met regularly when both were members of the Big Eight and then the Big 12. Nebraska. The two teams faced each other 75 times, with Nebraska winning 71 of the match ups. A 1977 match up had only two sets play and the two teams ended in a tie. The most recent match up between the two teams was in the second round of the 2023 NCAA tournament where the Huskers won in three sets. The last time the Tigers beat the Huskers was in October of 2003, when the Huskers were rated #1. It was the first time Missouri beat a #1 team.

Missouri got their season 2026 off to a 3-0 start before they fell to #25 Oregon in four sets at home on Tuesday.

This season the Tigers are led by junior middle blocker Lauren Larkin, a transfer from Utah State. Against Oregon she recorded 14 kills, while hitting .552. This follows a 10 kill performance while hitting .625 against Idaho last Saturday.

Junior Nina Mandovic controls the court as the starting setter. So far this season she has tallied 96- assists. Last season she recorded 173 assists and 51 digs while appearing in 18 games.

Freshman outside hitter Eva Smith hit .600 their last time out, she had 6 kills in the loss to Oregon. Libero Ainoah Cruz averages 4.62 digs per set. She has tallied 60 total digs so far this season.
