Nets' Ben Saraf lays out his goals for second season in the NBA

Brooklyn Nets guard Ben Saraf is coming off a rookie season where he showed some glimpses of why he was a first-round pick while also displaying why he was taken outside of the Lottery. Brooklyn took Saraf as part of a five-man 2025 NBA Draft class and while he still has to earn his minutes, he still has other goals for what he wants to achieve this upcoming season.

"I think this year we want to win as many games as possible. Last season, there were more opportunities for the younger players, and I think that really helped all of us," Saraf said, per Joshua Halickman of The Jerusalem Post. Saraf was one of the young players that saw plenty of playing time last season, but he's also thinking about his team at the same time.

"But this year it's about winning. Whoever helps the team win is going to play. So for me, it's about earning minutes, earning the coaching staff's trust and being as impactful as I can," Saraf continued before providing an even more lofty goal for Brooklyn. "Making the playoffs is definitely a dream. I think this year our team has been built well, and I really believe we can do it. That's our goal."

Saraf, 20 , averaged 7.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 39.6% from the field and 21.1% from behind the three-point line in 44 games played for the Nets last season. Saraf showed some improvement in Brooklyn's summer circuit this year as he averaged 10.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 37.3% from the floor and 33.3% from deep.

With the Nets selecting guard Mikel Brown Jr. with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, Saraf will be competing with Brown and Nolan Traore for minutes at the point guard spot. Saraf will begin his quest for more minutes when training camp begins later this month and it seems that he's trying to achieve multiple goals this season, both personal and team-wise.
