South African Jarvis, who can move above Patrick Reed and Rory McIlroy to second in the season-long standings with a victory, posted a second-round 67 to share top spot with Antoine Rozner at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club.

Jarvis - already a two-time winner on the DP World Tour this season - sits on 10 under with Rozner, who posted a six-under 65, while Champion Golfer of the Year Fox is three strokes back in a share of third.

Fox sits sixth in the Race to Dubai Rankings and looks to close on leader Eugenio Chacarra, with the New Zealander heading into the weekend on seven under with Martin Couvra, Filippo Celli and KPGA Order of Merit leader Sanghun Shin.

Chacarra rebounded from an opening-round 72 to post a five-under 66 to move inside the top 15, within six of the halfway lead, while Spain's Pablo Larrazábal missed the cut to be among those to lose their DP World Tour status.

DP World Tour stalwarts suffer card heartbreak

Thailand's Kiradech Aphibarnrat withdrew due to injury, meaning he will miss out on keeping Category 10 status on the DP World Tour next season.

Larrazábal, who vied to keep fighting at Qualifying School next month, missed the cut along with Sebastian Soderberg, who came into the week at 101st and is currently projected to fall to 103rd.

"It's been a tough 20 months, probably what changed it all was throwing away the 10th victory in Bahrain last year at the beginning of the season, not making the putt on the last win, it was very tough," Larrazabal said. "It took me a while to go through that one.

"This year has been tough. Not having my caddie 100 per cent at the beginning of the season, he had some family problems."

Jason Scrivener, Zander Lombard and England's Ross Fisher were among the others to fail to make the cut and extend their seasons, while Sean Crocker reached the weekend to maintain his hopes of moving from 103rd to inside the top 100 in the rankings.

Starting on the 10th, Rozner rolled in a 44-foot birdie putt at the 13th before adding further gains at the 16th and 18th to reach the turn in 33, then picked up three more birdies during a bogey-free round.

"It would be a good bonus to play the Play-Offs [he currently sits outside the qualification spots], but in the position I'm in, I have to focus on winning the tournament," Rozner said.

Overnight leader Jarvis was also blemish-free during his second round, posting four birdies in a six-hole stretch around the turn to join the Frenchman three clear of the field.

"I felt like I've just been really solid," Jarvis said. "I haven't been taking on the flags too much and kind of just hitting it to the middle part of the greens and then trying to make the long putts.
