Callaway Golf has severed its relationship with Good Good amid backlash to an ad that showed a male shoulder checking a female to the ground as she reaches for a driver in his golf bag.

In a statement released on Thursday, Callaway announced its relationship with Good Good has been ended effective immediately and it is committing to donate $1 million to support organizations working to prevent violence against women.

Good Good also released a statement Thursday saying they are stepping away from being the title sponsor of the PGA Tour event in Austin this fall, which runs from November 12-15.

The ad, originally released last week, has since been deleted. Garrett Clark, one of the co-founders of Good Good and the male featured in the spot, posted an apology video on his X account on Wednesday.

"This is not, at all, what we stand for," Clark said. "The way this ad was received is not how Good Good is and not what we stand for once again. I want everyone to know that. I do not support (domestic violence), abuse or any of that."

Callaway CEO Chip Brewer issued a statement on Tuesday explaining the ad was produced by Good Good and received approval from Callaway before being posted online.

"As we deal with the consequences of our mistake and complete our investigations, I want to make it clear that we sincerely apologize for the video. The content was inappropriate and does not reflect our values. To be clear: We are unequivocally against discrimination, domestic violence, or threatening behavior of any kind."

Good Good is a golf-focused social media channel founded in 2020. It has gained a strong foothold in the golf world, including partnering with Callaway dating back to 2023.

The PGA Tour also entered into a partnership with the brand last year when Good Good was announced as the title sponsor for the Good Good Championship taking place at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa's Fazio Canyons Course in Austin, Texas, in November 2026.
