The Green Bay Packers have quite a few questions staring them in face as they prepare for Week One of the 2026 NFL season. And while these questions are substantial, they have the benefit of having a great starting quarterback in Jordan Love .

Entering his fourth season as Green Bay 's starter under center, Love has command of the team's offense and has the luxury of all of his pass-catching weapons being healthy (something he did not have last season).

Despite not having a healthy slew of receivers in 2025, Love had the best season of his career a year ago. One cannot help but be excited for what he will do in 2026 with all the hype surrounding the offense.

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur believes Jordan Love is an elite quarterback

On Wednesday, LaFleur was asked by Packers media members what Love has to do to improve this year. He ruffled at the question, stating that he does not understand why people keep asking him that.

"I think he's an elite player," LaFleur said . "I'll let you guys figure that out what the next step is. A lot of times, it's due to team success, and the more success we have, the more people will view him in that light."

Last season, Love had a 66.3% completion percentage, 3,381 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, just six interceptions, and a 101.2 passer rating (15 games). Missing a game due to a concussion and another out of precaution due to the looming postseason caused his numbers to be less than what many might have wanted to see.

LaFleur brings up a good point, though. Obviously, Love continues to practice, improve, and stay sharp every day. However, he has very little left to prove in terms of how good of a quarterback he is. Green Bay's losses last season were not due to poor play by their starting quarterback. Rather, he led them to victory in several games that they otherwise might have lost.

As the Packers head coach states, it may take the team being more successful in order for Love to get the recognition he deserves. Winning the NFC North and making a deep run in the NFL Playoffs would go a long way in silencing the ever-declining number of Love's doubters.
