Presidents Cup Saturday results: U.S. chips away at International Team lead, trails by 3 heading into Sunday
The International Team is carrying an 8.5 to 5.5 lead into the afternoon in Chicago.
The U.S. team entered Saturday's action trailing the International team 7-3 .
Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim finally lost during the tournament. The pair had been 3-0 this week heading into the Saturday afternoon foursomes.
Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele finally delivered them a loss, winning 2&1, meaning the Team U.S. duo was up two strokes with one hole to go, a lead the Kims couldn't overcome.
Cameron Young and Chris Gotterup had the most dominant outing of the day in their afternoon foursome against Adam Scott and Sungjae Im. The U.S. won that pairing 6&4.
Sam Burns and Wyndham Clark losing 3&2 to Ryan Fox and Min Woo Lee really hurt the U.S. team. Burns and Clark were up through the first six holes and were tied after 12 holes of play. They then lost or tied four consecutive holes, conceding the match.
On Sunday, all 24 golfers will square off in singles matches. The first team to 15.5 points wins, though the International team only needs 5 points heading into the final day of competition.
