Celtics news: Jayson Tatum, Paul George link up for golf outing

Jayson Tatum is getting one last break from the NBA grind before Boston Celtics training camp begins, and he spent it with some of his former teammates .

Tatum was recently spotted playing golf with Paul George and former Celtics teammate Malcolm Brogdon . Photos and videos from the outing made the rounds on social media, showing the three NBA veterans enjoying some downtime before the start of the 2026-27 season.

"Squad goes golfing ⛳️," the caption read.

The group brought together former and current players from two Eastern Conference rivals, but there was plenty of history between them. Brogdon spent the 2022-23 season in Boston and won the Sixth Man of the Year award during his lone season with the Celtics. He later moved around the league before joining Philadelphia .

George, meanwhile, has remained one of Tatum's longtime friends . The two have worked out together during past offseasons and have often shown mutual respect for each other's games.

Their friendship has continued despite playing for teams that could see plenty of each other during the regular season. The offseason has also changed the connection between the Celtics and 76ers . Philadelphia added former Boston star Jaylen Brown as part of its roster overhaul.

For Tatum, the golf outing comes after a busy summer for Boston. The Celtics have gone through significant roster changes, leaving Tatum as the team's clear centerpiece heading into the 2026-27 campaign.

Training camp is now close, which means the relaxed days of the offseason are almost over.
