GURGAON: The father of biker Siya, whose video alleging a hit-and-run on Golf Course Road went viral, said he learnt about the incident only an hour earlier and would have filed an FIR himself had he known about it.Speaking to the media, Siya’s father said, “I only found out about the accident an hour ago. Otherwise, I would have gone and filed an FIR myself”.Also read more: ‘They are playing victim card’: Accused Kalyan Bainsla denies deliberate hit, blames biker in Gurgaon crash“It wasn’t even night; it happened during the day,” Siya’s father added.“We are fortunate that our daughter wasn’t hurt. I asked her, ‘If such an incident happened, why didn’t you tell us? You should have told us when you got home,” Siya’s father further added.Speaking to the media, brother of victim Siya said, “The incident happened yesterday morning. We hadn’t told our parents at home, though they sensed something had happened to her."" She had initially attributed her discomfort to body pain from the gym. She had called me first when the accident occurred. She told me there had been an accident. At first, I thought she had slipped. Then she explained that it was a hit-and-run. Someone had been chasing her and making abusive gestures," Siya's brother added." You must have seen the video; she was signalling them to keep their distance. Yet, they rolled down their window and made very offensive gestures. There were four people in the vehicle, and all of them were drunk. She told me this. This happened between7:30and8:00am," Siya's brother said."The men had likely been out drinking since the night before and encountered her on the road in the morning. She is experiencing something akin to trauma. Regarding the FIR registered in Gurugram, our lawyer has spoken to the SHO there about further action. We will also be filing an FIR on our own behalf," Siya's brother further added.According to Siya said, she would file an FIR with her lawyer by Monday evening and take legal action in the matter. In an Instagram story, Siya thanked people for their support and said she had seen efforts being made to identify the person involved in the incident. She also said she was receiving requests from news channels and journalists for interviews but would not be speaking to the media.“I do not wish to reveal my identity or face, and I won't be giving any interviews this time,” Siya said, asking people to respect her decision. She added that she would keep them updated and asked those seeking more information to contact her through Instagram.Sia had earlier shared a video recorded on an action camera mounted on her motorcycle, alleging that a car repeatedly followed her while she was riding with a group of bikers on Sunday before hitting her motorcycle and fleeing. She alleged that the occupants appeared to be intoxicated and that the driver asked her to stop despite her asking him to maintain a safe distance. She said she continued riding ahead as she felt the situation was unsafe. The footage appears to show the car coming into contact with her motorcycle, knocking her off the bike and dragging the motorcycle for several metres before fleeing.Siya said one of her friends chased the car and confronted the driver at a traffic signal. According to her, the driver denied responsibility and drove away. The car owner, Manish, has since said the vehicle belonged to him but had been borrowed by his friend Kalyan Singh two days earlier. Manish said he was at work and learnt about the accident only on Monday morning. He said Singh did not answer his calls when he tried to contact him.Gurgaon Police has taken suo motu cognisance of the viral video and said the accused would be identified and arrested at the earliest. Police are registering a case under relevant sections at Sector 56 police station. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Gurgaon | Silver Rate in Gurgaon | Bank Holidays in Gurgaon | Public Holidays in Gurgaon | Gurgaon AQI | Weather in Gurgaon | Petrol Price in Gurgaon | Diesel Price in Gurgaon | CNG Price in Gurgaon | LPG Price in GurgaonStay updated with the latest Gurgaon news.
