Laura Frick made history earlier this year as the first female PGA of America Golf Professional to serve as championship director for one of the association's spectator championships, holding the role at the 2026 KPMG Women's PGA Championship at Hazeltine National in Chaska, Minnesota.

Now, she's stepping into an even bigger role for one of the biggest events in golf: championship director of the 2029 Ryder Cup .

The PGA of America announced Sunday that Frick would assume the role for the next U.S. edition of the biennial bash, which returns to Hazeltine National, where the Ryder Cup was also held in 2016. And Frick, who was introduced to the game by her grandparents as an 8-year-old in Hudsonville, Michigan, will have a front-row seat to all on-site operations for the Ryder Cup.

"It's truly a job that I will look forward to waking up for every day," Frick said. "I'm proud of the dedication it took to get here and I'm so thankful for the network of people who guided and supported me along the way."

After graduating from Ferris State in 2015, Frick joined the PGA of America and worked in the Player Engagement and Member Championships departments. In December 2021, she became Director of Competitions, leading national events that included the PGA Jr. League Championships.

Now, her newest role will be in the same place she made history at this summer.
