Green Bay Packers’ offensive line uncertainty creates intriguing Week 1 question

The Green Bay Packers still have some uncertainty along their offensive line heading into their Week 1 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings . With the 2026 NFL season set to begin Wednesday night when the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks revisit their Super Bowl matchup, Green Bay is still waiting on clarity regarding which linemen will take the field for the early divisional showdown.

Packers appear to have their preferred offensive line figured out, but injuries have left two starting spots uncertain heading into Week 1. Left guard Aaron Banks and right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele remain questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Vikings, with the team yet to confirm whether either player will be ready to handle a full workload.

The Green Bay Packers' uncertainty at the O-line

"The Green Bay Packers don't know who's starting on their offensive line Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, or at least they're not revealing that information," wrote The Athletic's Matt Schneidman on his article.

"The two most veteran starters on Green Bay's offensive line are left guard Aaron Banks and right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele. … Both finished camp on the field, but coaches this week are making it sound like their statuses aren't certain for the season opener."

Green Bay could be keeping the Vikings guessing by withholding their offensive line plans, but it is unclear how much of an advantage that actually provides. Would Brian Flores adjust his blitz packages based on whether Banks or Bako-Bewele is available, or are the Packers simply trying to keep a division rival from knowing its plans? With the season opener approaching, the answer should become clear soon enough.

"Maybe it's just gamesmanship, but it's fair to wonder whether those uncertainties are legitimate." the NFL insider added.
