The Green Bay Packers get brutal news on 338-pound NT
Jonathan Ford took part in stretches on Thursday but left with trainers and did not practice. During Friday's press conference, Matt LaFleur told the media that Ford won't practice and will most likely not play against the Cowboys, as reported by Wes Hodkiewicz of the team's website, leaving the team with only four defensive tackles. Expect Chris McClellan to take on a larger role, including at nose tackle in base defense.
The Packers could elevate undersized nose tackle David Blay Jr . to the game-day roster. Blay played college football for West Chester (2021-2022), Louisiana Tech (2023-2024), and Miami (2025). The 292-pound defensive tackle spent the offseason with the Patriots and the Eagles before Philadelphia released him during roster cuts. He remained unsigned through the first three weeks and signed with Green Bay's practice squad on September 30.
