Packers make $92M Tucker Kraft contract decision that can smash NFL record

The Green Bay Packers were approaching the 2026 season with the intention of signing Tucker Kraft to a long term deal. But, with only one day before their season opener, they were cutting it close.

Fortunately, the Packers got the deal done. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter , Kraft and the Packers have agreed to a massive $92 million four-year contract extension to keep the star tight end in Green Bay .

This major new deal for Kraft doesn't just keep him in Green Bay for the foreseeable future, it also smashed the current record for largest contract for a tight end, with second place not remotely close.

"ESPN sources: Green Bay TE Tucker Kraft and the Packers reached agreement today on a four-year, $75 million extension worth up to $92 million that includes a $26.5 million signing bonus," Schefter reports.

While this four-year contract for Kraft is a $75 million deal, it has a chance of eclipsing $92 million overall depending on incentives he hits. Considering his talent, it's likely he'll climb well over that $75 million mark.

If Kraft earns the minimum of this $75 million extension, which isn't likely, his new deal is still going to be third-most among all tight ends, right behind George Kittle at $76.4 million and Trey McBride at $76 million.

On a per-year basis, Kraft's new deal is also third, coming in at $18.75 million per-year right behind Kittle ($19.1M) and McBride ($19M).

But if Kraft can reach his max value on his new deal, $92 million overall and $23M per-year, it'd easily clear the current record for tight ends.

While the floor of his contract isn't a record-breaker, so long as Kraft can meet some of his incentives, he'll clear the record-setting contract from Kittle at $76.4M and $19.1M per-year.

This is a very strong contract for Kraft, and while it might not be the $20M per-year deal he was seeking, so long as he hits some incentives, his goal of a record-breaking contract is well within reach.
