This Packers rookie has a message for fans after team's disastrous start

It's been only 13 days since the Green Bay Packers ' 2026 season kicked off, but after three games many fans likely feel that the season is over.

There has been a collapse, there's been one of the worst home losses in years , there's been brutal injuries, there's undisciplined football, there's a team that can't protect its quarterback , run the ball or get 1 yard when it needs it.

The Packers (1-2) look to be a team in crisis without a path forward from their current state. All their weaknesses were on display during a 21-point loss in their home opener on "Thursday Night Football" to the Atlanta Falcons . And fans let them know how they felt as they booed the team early and often.

If that was a one-off fans might overlook it. But it's been a pattern that goes beyond the Falcons game. The Packers are 1-7 in their last eight games overall, dating to last season.

But a Packers rookie is speaking up and he wants fans to know one thing:

"This s--- ain't over," linebacker Dani Dennis-Sutton wrote on X on Friday, Sept. 25, a day after the Packers were run off the field by the Falcons .

Packers are 1-2 for first time since 2014

It's true there are plenty of games left in the 2026 season — 14 to be exact.

And the last time the Packers were 1-2 it was in 2014 when they were one special teams blunder from going to the Super Bowl.

After losing its second game in Week 3, Aaron Rodgers then told everyone to R-E-L-A-X.

That team would win four straight and nine of 10 games as the Packers went on to finish 12-4, win the NFC North division, earn a playoff bye, beat the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round before losing to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game after collapsing late.

Could the 2026 Packers make a similar comeback?

Like in 2014, the Packers played and defeated the New York Jets in Week 2 and followed it with a poor offensive showing the next. But 12 years later, if this team can't find a solution at offensive line or running back or begin to tackle they won't follow what that 2014 team did no matter how many games are remaining.

The Packers picked Dennis-Sutton, 22, with the 120th overall pick in the fourth round.

Through three games, he has nine tackles (two solo and seven assisted). Dennis-Sutton had a half a sack in the Week 2 overtime win at the New York Jets and had two assisted tackles on Thursday night.

His optimism may fuel from the fact that the Packers are getting his mentor, Micah Parsons , back in the coming weeks.

Dennis-Sutton and Parsons both starred at Penn State.

The All-Pro edge rusher Parsons hasn't played since tearing his ACL during the Packers' Week 15 game against the Denver Broncos last season. A return date could come in mid-October.

Parsons has been on the sidelines this season giving his defensive teammates motivation. The defense performed well against the Jets in helping save that game but they were exposed by one of the best running backs in the game four days later.

Bijan Robinson rushed for 194 yards and two touchdowns, reminiscent of when Derrick Henry put up 216 yards and four touchdowns against the Green Bay defense in the Packers' home finale during the 2025 season.
