PGA Tour unveils schedule for 2027 season

The PGA Tour announced Wednesday the 2027 FedExCup regular season schedule that features 33 events, including shakeups to the bookends of the season's calendar.

For the first time in 56 years, the PGA Tour will not be in Hawaii. The American Express will tee off the season in La Quinta, California on Jan. 21, followed by The Sentry, which moves to Torrey Pines Golf Course after drought conditions at The Plantation Course at Kapalua kept it off the PGA Tour schedule in 2026.

The West Coast swing will once again see the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am swap places with the WM Phoenix Open after the two flip-flopped each other last season. The Florida swing is also getting a handful of changes, with the Cadillac Championship moving from May to early March, leading into the Players Championship. The Arnold Palmer Invitational will take the place of the Valspar Championship (Mar. 18-21), with the latter moving to May following The CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

The PGA Championship makes its debut at the Fields Ranch East course at PGA Frisco, marking a return to North Texas for the first time in six decades.

After an eight-year run, it was announced that the PGA Tour will not return to Detroit in 2027 and the Rocket Classic would come to an end. Filling the void is the Sompo Championship played at Silverado Resort's North Course in Napa, California. This will serve as the penultimate event of the regular season.

The regular-season finale will have a new title sponsor in 2026. The longtime Greensboro event now becomes the GO Raymond James, leading into the three-event FedExCup playoffs. This is the final season of this playoff format before moving to the PGA Tour Championship Series in 2028.
