As a four-time champion, Thompson knows how to win. Now that he is on the Heat, it seems this is the perfect fit for him. He was unhappy with his chances of winning with the Dallas Mavericks , especially since he thought Luka Doncic would be there for the long term. Now, he is on the Heat looking to win another one.
"I just missed out on the postseason. I hate watching from home. You get FOMO watching all your coworkers just getting to chase their dreams, and it's not fun not making the playoffs. That's all I want to do these next couple years. Have a chance to make a deep postseason run," Thompson said about the Heat being the perfect match in his interview with Brendan Tobin .
"So excited to be in Miami. They're a very demanding organization, but I love being in that ultra-competitive atmosphere, and this was a match made in heaven."
Playing for the Heat comes with extra pressure for most players. However, that is not the case for Thompson because he is quite familiar with the responsibilities he has in Miami. He managed to win four titles in the past, this time, he wants to contribute to win his fifth and help the Heat succeed again.
