PGA Tour Announces 2027 Schedule, Dates Revealed for Masters, U.S. Open, All Major Championships

The PGA Tour's 2026 season is set to come to an end this weekend with the Tour Championship, and the countdown to next year has already begun.

On Wednesday, the PGA Tour announced its full 2027 schedule, running from Jan. 18 to Aug. 29. The schedule is highlighted by the major championship tournaments, including the Players Championship on March 8-14, the Masters on April 5-11, the PGA Championship on May 17-23, the U.S. Open on June 14-20 and the Open Championship on July 12-18.

In all, the 2027 PGA Tour schedule will feature 36 events, down just one from this year. There is one TBD event on the schedule that will run opposite the Genesis Invitational on Feb. 15-21.

The Sompo Championship on July 26-Aug. 1 is a new addition to the PGA Tour schedule and will serve as the penultimate event of the regular season. It will be followed by the GO by Raymond James on Aug. 2-8 before the 21st edition of the FedExCup Playoffs.

Though not on the official schedule, it was announced on Tuesday that NBA legend LeBron James is partnering with the PGA Tour to bring an event to his hometown of Akron, Ohio. The LeBron James Family Foundation Invitational will be played July 6-7 at the South Course at Firestone Country Club and will feature amateurs and pros from the tour's Pathway to Progression Pro-Bound Five program.

"The PGA Tour believes golf can create opportunity, change lives and bring communities together," PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp said in a statement. "LeBron and the LeBron James Family Foundation have shown what is possible when that commitment is backed by action, and this partnership brings that shared vision to life. By connecting young people in Akron with our sport and supporting talented, up-and-coming athletes pursuing their dreams through our Pathway to Progression program, we are creating an event that honors Firestone's history and legacy while helping shape golf's future."

Before turning the page to 2027, 30 of the top golfers in the world will be vying for supremacy this weekend at the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
