The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers will renew the league's oldest rivalry on Sunday when the two teams face off inside Lambeau Field. Both of these teams have aspirations of not only winning the NFC North, but making a deep post-season run.

That being said, it would appear Chicago will be waiting another week to get one of their long time starters back on defense. Here are the details.

The Chicago Bears will be without cornerback Kyler Gordon for Sunday's match-up against the Packers. The news comes despite the defensive back practicing in full throughout the week.

Gordon had been working his way back from a calf injury that kept him sidelined to begin the season. His return to practice offered hope that he could make his 2026 debut at Lambeau Field, but the Bears have decided he isn't ready to return to game action just yet. According to ESPN's Courtney Cronin, Gordon will remain on the physically unable to perform list rather than being activated for Sunday's NFC North showdown.

The setback is another frustrating development for Gordon, who missed significant time last season because of injuries. Chicago has been cautious with his recovery, and the team now has until October 21 to activate him from the PUP list before his return window closes. His next opportunity to play will come against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6.

Gordon's absence means Chicago will continue without one of their key defensive backs as they prepare to face Green Bay . Chicago activated linebacker Noah Sewell from the PUP list on Saturday instead, leaving Gordon to continue working toward his return.

The two rivals are scheduled to kick off Sunday at 12 p.m. CT at Lambeau Field.
