Scottie Scheffler celebrates FedEx Cup title with a rare beer, offers warm praise for Brandel Chamblee

Scottie Scheffler was in a great mood on Sunday evening after winning the Tour Championship and wrapping up the FedEx Cup. After securing his third victory of the year and picking up a $10 million check in the process, he celebrated like most would, by enjoying a cold beer in the clubhouse before hitting the countless media stops on the property before leaving Atlanta. Scheffler also handed out a huge compliment to Golf Channel's Brandel Chamblee during his post-victory sit-down with the network. While it was a straightforward gesture, it showed a side of Scheffler we don't often see, which is a completely laid-back guy who was both ecstatic and relieved that he ended his 2026 campaign on top. To close out his post-round news conference in the media center, Scheffler was asked what sort of celebratory dinner he was going to get into. The World No. 1 explained that all he wanted was a cheeseburger, but he did let everyone know he enjoyed a nice cold beverage before sitting down to answer questions. It just sounded good," Scheffler explained. "Right when we got off the course, I got in there, these guys are trying to get me to do media and all this stuff. I was like: how much time do we really have? They're like we've got a couple minutes. All right, let me go inside and get some air conditioning. There was an open bar inside, and I'm like, all right, I'm grabbing a beer. It tasted great. "I don't really drink very often. My wife and my manager were like, wow, I haven't seen you have a beer in a long time. Well, season's over now. I'm going to have a beer. Well-earned beer." Yes, most would say the beer Scheffler sank after his round was well-earned, given his three-win, five-runner-up campaign that saw him earn $31 million before bonuses are added. Chamblee, like any great broadcaster, has his fair share of supporters and critics, but there is no denying that he is a walking encyclopedia of golf knowledge. Whether it be golf history or the modern game, there may not be another human out there who has a brain filled with more knowledge about the sport. Scheffler giving props to Chamblee, and grabbing a page of his notes to show viewers back home made for a cool moment, and, again, presented a side of Scheffler that we don't get to see too often.
