Gujarat Giants entered the WPL 2026 auction with a purse of Rs 1.25 crore and three slots to fill, including one overseas player. With limited funds available, the team had little room for changes to its squad.Their first signing was G Kamalini, who was released by Mumbai Indians, for Rs 40 lakh. Born in Madurai, the 18-year-old left-handed wicketkeeper is regarded as one of India's promising young talents. She came into the spotlight after leading the Tamil Nadu Under-19 team to a national title in 2024. Her performances soon drew attention, and Mumbai Indians signed her for Rs 1.6 crore at the 2024 auction.Kamalini received her maiden international call-up in late 2025 and made her T20I debut against Sri Lanka.Gujarat Giants next signed Irish all-rounder Orla Prendergast, who will make her WPL debut.
